House Rewires
Peacehaven

Old wiring holds a house back. It caps what you can safely run, trips when you push it, and fails the checks that matter when you come to sell. Our rewiring services put that right for Peacehaven homeowners — properly, and for good.

Think about what your home carries now. An induction hob. A desk full of screens. Maybe a car on charge outside. Our Part P registered team plans every house rewire in Peacehaven with those modern loads in mind, so the new installation has headroom to spare.

Plotland bungalow? Postwar semi? Newer estate build? We handle full rewires and smaller wiring upgrades for every kind of property in town.

Want a rough figure before anyone visits? Fair enough. Try the online calculator, or ring us and we'll book a free survey.

We've Rewired Homes Like Yours

Plotland bungalows. Seventies semis. Flats near the cliff. Between them, our electricians have rewired every kind of Peacehaven property, so whatever is behind your walls, someone here has met it before.

02

Days on Site, Not Weeks

We plan the cable routes before we ever arrive, which is how most Peacehaven rewires finish inside a working week — usually two to five days. Quick, but never rushed.

03

Tested, Certified, Future-Ready

Part P registered. Wired and tested to the 18th Edition. And sized with spare capacity, so the installation still copes when you add the EV charger or the loft office.

04

Ask the Electrician, Not a Switchboard

Questions? You talk to the person actually doing your rewire. Before the job, during it, and long after we've packed up the van.

PART P
REGISTERED ELECTRICIAN

Rewiring is all we concentrate on. Every job in Peacehaven is handled by a Part P registered contractor and done right the first time.

Day in, day out our electricians are inside East Sussex homes — interwar bungalows, estate semis, clifftop flats — working to the 18th Edition and sizing circuits for the loads a modern household actually draws.

Behind them is a small office team who pick up the phone, keep your job on schedule and stay reachable long after your certificate arrives.

Local Reviews

Straight From Peacehaven Homeowners

★★★★★

"We'd just bought a 1960s chalet house off the South Coast Road and the survey flagged the electrics straight away. They rewired the whole place before we moved in, added extra sockets for two home offices and ran the cabling for a future car charger while the walls were open. Genuinely glad we sorted it all in one go."

About Brighton Rewire
The Way We Work

Wired for the Way You Live Now

A rewire is a chance to reset the whole house. Not just patch it.

Most Peacehaven properties take us two to five days, and we use that time to do more than swap old cable for new — we add capacity where you'll want it next.

Extra sockets in the spare room that became an office. A dedicated circuit for the kitchen. Cabling ready for an EV charger. All far easier while the walls are already open.

All those years spent rewiring across Peacehaven and East Sussex mean we can tell you quickly what your type of house needs — and what it doesn't.

We make good as we go, too. Chases filled and skimmed, so the plasterwork matches the wiring underneath it.

Worth Checking

Five Signs the Wiring Is Past Its Best

Plenty of the Peacehaven homes we survey need less work than their owners feared. Some need a full rewire urgently. These are the signals we always take seriously:

  • A fuse box without RCD trip protectionRewirable fuses and no trip switches mean nothing like modern protection — and a board like that won't cope with modern demand either.
  • Rubber or cloth-insulated cableStill hiding in plenty of Peacehaven's older bungalows. After decades the insulation goes brittle and can crumble as soon as anything moves it.
  • Trips that keep coming back with no clear causeWhen faults can't be pinned to one circuit, the wider installation is usually the culprit. Worth a proper look.
  • Faceplates that feel warm, buzz or show scorchingHeat and noise mean loose or overworked connections behind the socket. Never something to ignore.
  • Several C1 or C2 codes on a recent EICROne serious code can be repaired. Several spread across different circuits usually make a rewire the more economical answer.

Just one of these on its own? An inspection and some targeted work may be all your Peacehaven home needs. Either way, we'll tell you straight.

The Job, Done Properly

Everything the Quote Includes

One price, the whole job. Every full rewire we carry out in Peacehaven comes with all of this from the start:

  • New cabling on every circuit in the house
  • A modern consumer unit protected by RCBOs
  • Surge protection fitted as standard
  • Earthing and bonding upgraded to BS 7671
  • Interlinked mains smoke and heat detection
  • New sockets and switches in every room
  • All chases plastered and skimmed afterwards
  • Your Electrical Installation Certificate at handover
Living Through It

Planning the Week Around You

Set aside 2–5 days for most Peacehaven homes. Size drives it. A compact bungalow needs less; a two-storey house, or one with solid floors and awkward routes, needs a little more.

You can usually stay living at home. We work one area at a time, keep the kitchen and a bathroom usable for all but a day, and only take the power fully off while the new board goes in.

Plastering is included, not extra. Every chase gets filled and skimmed before we leave, so once the plaster dries you decorate — and that's the job finished.

What We Offer

How We Can Help in Peacehaven

Electrical rewiring is the whole of our trade in Peacehaven — bungalows from the plotland era, postwar semis and everything since. And every job is planned so the finished installation copes with whatever you add next, from an induction hob to a car charger on the drive.

Two main routes, depending on what your wiring actually needs.

Full Home Rewire

Most customers come to us for a complete house rewire. It's the right call when cable has aged past saving, the fuse board is obsolete, or faults keep surfacing in different rooms. We strip out the old installation, run new circuits throughout, fit a modern consumer unit and finish with fresh sockets, switches and lighting — all sized with spare capacity for the years ahead.

Wiring Upgrade

Sometimes the bones are sound and only parts need attention. A wiring upgrade renews the weakest sections — earthing, bonding, the board, a tired circuit or two — while leaving what still tests well alone. Our Part P registered electricians inspect first and give an honest verdict; if the whole installation is failing, we'll say so rather than patch around it.

Explore upgrade options

Not sure which applies to you? Where the cable itself tests fine, a new consumer unit on its own can transform an older Peacehaven installation. And if a survey shows only half the house needs rewiring, we'll quote for half. The survey decides, not the salesman.

Common Questions

Questions We Hear From Peacehaven Homeowners

What should I budget for a house rewire in Peacehaven?

It depends on the house. Bedrooms, circuits, cable routes and the finish you pick all move the figure. Quickest starting point: our rewire cost calculator — a handful of questions and you get an instant ballpark, then a free survey turns it into a fixed written quote. One tip: adding extras like EV-ready cabling during the rewire costs far less than fitting them afterwards.

How many days should I set aside for the work?

Two to five for most homes here. A compact bungalow lands at the shorter end; a bigger two-storey place, or one with solid floors and tight access, takes longer. Your quote comes with a schedule so you can plan the week properly.

Do you rewire homes in the villages nearby?

We do. Telscombe Cliffs, Saltdean, Rottingdean, Newhaven and Denton are all regular territory for us, and we're happy to travel anywhere in this part of East Sussex. Ring and we'll confirm we can get to you.

What state are my walls left in afterwards?

Better than most people fear. Every chase we cut gets refilled and skim-coated before we finish, leaving walls ready for decorating. The only wait is drying time — give fresh plaster a couple of weeks before the first mist coat of paint.

Is the work Part P registered and certificated?

Yes. Every job is done by Part P registered electricians, tested to BS 7671 (the 18th Edition) and signed off with an Electrical Installation Certificate. Keep that document safe — solicitors, insurers and letting agents all ask for it, and it's the baseline for future inspections.

About the Area

Rewiring Homes in Peacehaven

Peacehaven was laid out from scratch in the years after the First World War — a planned clifftop town set out on a broad grid of plots high above the Channel. Its best-known landmark, the Meridian Monument, stands right on the cliff edge, marking the line of the Greenwich meridian where it meets the sea. Much of the town is made up of the classic plotland bungalows of the 1920s and 1930s, with postwar estates filling in behind them, and a good deal of that stock is now well past the age at which its wiring should be inspected or renewed. That interwar and early postwar housing is exactly the kind of property our Peacehaven rewires are built around.
